bio:
Carl Picton is, as album opener Samuel Beckett attests, the product of: ?a South East London comprehensive and a left wing home... an Irish mother and English father who passed me down... a heart just dark enough for this dirty town??.
The Cartel is a colourful collective of musicians consisting of original Cutting Crew bassist Colin Farley with drums and percussion from Jon Bongly, tasteful harmonica from Hugh Barnett, soulful tenor and soprano sax from Hubert Spall and angelic backing vocals courtesy of Indigo Star.
With a top draw Great British singer-songwriter for the 21st Century at the helm, The Carl Picton Cartel are rapidly earning a reputation as a formidable live act on the London circuit, powerful in all configurations, be it a duo, a trio or the whole six piece cartel.
The debut, pre-cartel album THE DEATH OF THE GREAT BRITISH BOOZER was produced, arranged and mixed by Jamie 'Stan' Stanley and will soon be available on i-Tunes. A full band follow up is in the pipeline... Watch this space!
