Naomi Young singer songwriter. She started writing music from the age of 11, beginning her formal music education at the age of sixteen at Colchester Institute of Music & performing arts, studying drums, guitar, singing and music technology. She studied for a Btec National Diploma, classically trained by Alan Bullard and Ian Ray. It was there she began writing her first music scores and recording her material with various musicians and engineers. Alongside song writing she played drums in various bands and performed as a solo artist at events for local radio stations. Naomi then went on to complete her undergraduate studies at The London College of Music and Media specialising in composition under Kit Turnbull (see www.themusicsalon.com) and Simon Rigby. Whilst studying she had the opportunity of networking with many great artists, instrumentalists, and production company Ill treatment. Naomi has composed a number of jazz, funk and popular pieces, including collaborations. She works as a session drummer, guitarist, singer, and teaches music part-time. Although she has diverse interests popular song writing is her main focus. Inspired by great artists such as Jill Scott, Meshell Ndegeocello, Kelly Clarkson, Angie Stone, Omar, India Arie and many more. Since graduating she has performed with various artists and recorded with several producers.
