bio:
As deep as the Pacific off the coast from his home in San Diego, California, Fred's creative stream finds expression in his architecture, writing and music. This is music based on a foundation of Fred's acoustic and electric guitars and layered with drums by Roger Karlsen, bass guitar by Nathan Brown, keyboards and the fine harmonica of Gary Popenoe.
Slipping into one of Fred's songs is like pulling on your favorite jeans, comfortable, familiar and satisfying.

Singles:
Song: New Classic
I'm a hopeless romantic and wrote this to mark the election of Obama as my president.
Song: Reconciliation
Originally approached this as an expression of what my father is going through with severe Alzheimers disease, but it became more of what we are going through. I'm still not finished with it yet.
Song: Slip Away
Written as a younger man to another time and cast of characters
Song: To The Night
A duet with my daughter Roxi asking the question that really have no answers.
Song: ITYG = Invisible to Young Girls
"Invisible to Young Girls" is what you become in middle age when the girl at the check-out counter first refers to you as "SIR"
Song: San Diego Shuffle
A love/hate ballad about the tourists that come to enjoy "America's Finest City"
Song: Another Perfect Day
When your 7 year old stops you on the way out the door at 5:00 am you know a song will come......
Song: Kenji Kawano
The words are from a poem given to me by the great Jorma Kaukonen and the music was a collaboration with Jim and Pat. Jorma recorded his take on this arrangement for the album "Little Pancake Button"
Song: Nothing More
Several months before Bush ordered the illegal invasion of Iraq, I wrote this to express outrage at the actions of a government I didn't respect.
Song: Before the Dawn
A testament to all of you who get up before everyone else to make life as full as it can be.
Song: Born to Lose
A fun romp through the rules of engagement between men and women.
Song: Fish in the Ocean
A really satisfying song to play and made more fun with back-up vocals by Roxi and David
