Kevon Joseph a.k.a KK
Emanating from the rich southwestern border of Trinidad, touching us with a sweet lyrical and pulsating music is none other than Kevon Joseph aka. KK??..
KK?s humble place of abode originally was Rancho Quemado until he migrated to Tobago at age seventeen (17). From there on he started singing to relieve the stress of his family. Chanting, rapping and singing were inevitably a natural way of life for him. In 2006, he started visiting studios, the first being ?Another Level Recording? doing minor training. For the next year and a half, he continued training to develop his voice and breathing techniques.
The following year he earned his first gig in Bellegarden, Tobago at a beach party. From there on he realized that a more serious effort had to be made towards his music. In light of this, he recorded his first song, ?Falling in Love? which was specially edited for his wife. He gained great exposure through this song, therefore it motivated him do other songs. Within a few weeks KK began receiving requests on this hit to be preformed for promotional use. However KK?s largest performance thus far was on the 14th January 2009 at the ?Bmobile Soca Spree? where he opened the show.
In 2008, KK was on fire releasing three hott singles songs, two Soca hits (Wine on Me) and (Wok up Yuh Bumper) and one Reggae (Hold you Tight Tonight). ?Wok up Yuh Bumper? was featured by a local artist, Kekere. This was a big breakthrough for KK since he released two other songs a Soca ?Feeling Yuh Vibes? and a Reggae? Close To You? earlier this year. These songs were popular on the airwaves and were highly requested on radio stations. Other fellow artistes were also eager to do combinations / compilations with him.
As ?Wok up Yuh Bumper? became even more famous Kevon decided to put his years of training to the test. In 2009, Radio Tambrin (92.7fm) out of Tobago held a show which featured the first top ten artistes on the island and was also featured on live television. Kevon was astonished since he was one of the top ten. Being a multitalented artist KK learned to separate his music from his private life and is now currently working on a music video and other songs.1
