I am currently promoting my new Christmas Album and finally getting back into writing which I'm missing terribly. I'm also working diligently away with my Russian collaborator Victoria Linskaya. We have just been accepted into "The Golden Melody Song Festival (and song contest)" in Lanarca, Cyrus being held on February 26-28, 2011. They were asked to represent the Ukraine or Belarus but she didn't have any new lyrics in those languages and she wanted to sing my song which is in English so they are allowing her to represent my country, Canada - Sooooo Cooool :)! The singers selected for 2011 are from: France, Austria, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Russia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Kyrgystan, Fyrom, Malta, Poland, United Kingdom and Canada (Me represented by my Russian collaborator).
Starting in January, I will be writing a bi-weekly blog/article for Radio Casbah - The Fevered Brain Network on what's happening on the indie scene. Also in 2011, the inaugural music and cultural festival "Romanza" will be gearing up to start offering slots in their festival for May 2012 so I look forward to helping out where I can. I am anxiously awaiting to hear if one of my collaborators gets accepted into Latin America's biggest and most famous music festival in Chili in February 2011 "Vina Del Mar" with my song "I'm Alive".
Release of "A NOT Ordinary Christmas" Album - November 2010. Currently available as a downloadable album from Reverbnation and in CD format any day now. It will also be available from 35 on-line music stores worldwide very shortly. If you are in Ottawa, you can pick up copies from three CD Warehouse stores .... more to come. I will be interviewed this Friday (Nov 12th) live on "Indie On Air" to promote our album and it will be available as a podcast afterwards. I'll also be interviewed on Waterloo College Radio on a show featuring Canadian Women in Music on December 13th.
