'BLACK STEEL' are an Australian power metal band, whose career highlights include supports with DEEP PURPLE (2000), JUDAS PRIEST (2001, 2008), BLACK LABEL SOCIETY (2006), and an appearance at the METALLICA-headlined 'Big Day Out' Festival in Perth (2004). They are listed in Garry Sharpe-Youngs's 'The A-Z Of Power Metal' encyclopedia, and have four releases to date - 'Battle Call' (EP 2000), 'Destructor' (2001), 'Relentless Force' (single 2004), and 'Hellhammer' (2005). The band was plugged by IRON MAIDEN lead singer BRUCE DICKINSON, on his BBC radio show 'Bruce's Rock Show', and he aired one of their songs, 'Slaughterhouse' (from the 'Hellhammer' album) on a couple of occasions. The most recent recording and live-line-up of Black Steel is Matt Williams (vocals), Jamie Page (guitar), Dave Harrison (bass), and Damien Petrilli (drums). Black Steel's 'Battle Call' EP, and the albums 'Destructor' and 'Hellhammer' are available worldwide from itunes.
